Mermaid Bear Necklace & Some Mermaid D.I.Y.

When I saw this teddybear mermaid necklace pop up in the Moon Bunny etsy shop, I couldn't resist treating myself. It's a teddybear... and a mermaid. And it has little golden shell nip-covers. How ridiculously, hilariously cute is that!?

It's incredibly well-made as well, with so much attention to detail.

I also made myself a few gold-coloured mermaid accessories recently:

I got this seashell mirror compact on ebay for a couple of quid and glued some swarovskis and plastic shells to it (I got the shells is a mermaid jewellery kit for kids and painted them gold).

A papercraft seahorse I got from Millers and turned into an earring...

... And here's a sparkley stud earring that I made from a gemstone sticker from Paperchase glued onto a piece of clear PVC which I then glued onto an earring back. Cheap as chips!

Q-Pot Pink Shell Macaron Necklace

My birthday is coming up (and it's a big one) so I decided to save up and treat myself to something from the Q-Pot International shop. I was a little nervous as I'd never bought a necklace from them before; only rings which aren't as expensive. I shouldn't have been worried though as the pink shell macaron necklace I had decided on was so beautifully made and of such good quality that it was worth every penny.

The only problem I have is that it's so lovely I want to wear it all the time!

Recent Make-Up Looks

I think a lot of people have a "staple" look, the one you go to when you want to look fancy, but don't have any time to experiment with colour or new products. This one's mine: Mac 'Ruby-Woo' on the lips, Sugar Pill 'Love+' under the eyes and the cut-crease is a red pencil rubbed in my pinky and blended over with a black eyeshadow. Dead easy! I wore it to an art auction the other night.

I've been having fun with my Too Faced Sugar Pop eyeshadow palette lately. This look is 'Blue Raspberry' (weirdly named because it's actually a nearly-matte turquoise) from the palette on the lids, blended out with some browns and bronzes.

Wearing White

I've always loved this Australian opal I got years ago from my aunt and uncle in Australia

Weekend treats

Q-Pot Luxe Heart Chocolate Ring

I've always wanted to own a piece of jewellery by amazing Japanese designer brand Q-Pot, but for years I had forgotten all about it until something brought it back to mind recently.

Tickled Shop, I found out recently, is one place that has a great variety of Q-Pot jewellery available to buy online. After taking ages to decide which item to treat myself to, I finally decided on the Luxe Heart Chocolate Ring and, when it arrived in the post, I wasn't disappointed with my choice!

I just love how much it looks like a real chocolate truffle. The heart is made of PVC so it has a really nice weight to it as well. I even bought myself some big gold hooped earrings so I've got gold jewellery to match the ring when I wear it.

I'm definitely planing to buy more jewellery by Q-Pot in the future. What about you guys? Do you own any Q-Pot? What are your favourite pieces?

"Hello Sweetie"

I stumbled into Paperchase the other day and found out that they have a new collection called Hello Sweetie which is full of stationary and kids things on the theme of marshmallows, ice-cream, doughnuts and lots of other things with hundreds-and-thousands on them.

It's pretty frickin' adorable, to say the least.

Naturally, I couldn't resist these two notepads... Seriously, it was like a force of nature; when I saw there was only one of each left, I did that kind of panic-buying thing. So embarrassing.

I love how this one looks like a flump.

I'm also loving this B. Sweet Popping Candy Highlighting Serum from Superdrug's own brand 'B.' I've been looking for a highlighter for ages and really wanted a liquid one so I can just use my fingers to apply it. This one's just perfect for me as it has a definite pinky-coloured sparkle when it sets.

And, I've had this nail varnish for ages now, but (along with Models Own Utopia NP064) it's one of my absolute favourite nail varnishes. (It also kind of matches my notebook here).

Oh yeah, and I bought some Sumikko Gurashi stickers for the usual reason I buy silly, pointless things (because they're cute!). I think they look pretty good on my appropriately pink phone cover.

Too Faced Sugar Pop Eyeshadow Palette

I found this Too Faced Sugar Pop eyeshadow palette in T.K. Maxx the other day and thought the colours were so pretty that I just had to nab it.

It cost me £9.99 and, after looking it up and finding the normal price is £32, I was pretty happy with my bargain.

I'm no expert so I'm not going to even attempt to give this palette a serious review, but, for my own purposes, it's great. Macaron (warm glittery peach) is really nice under the eyes and I love using Rock Candy (pale glittery cream colour) on my lids. I'm really glad I picked it up.

Nathalie Du Pasquier Cushions

I said I still had to show you my favourite Christmas present and this is it! Anyone has has seen my home decor board on pinterest knows that I've lusting over Wrong for HAY cushions designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier, one of the original 1980s memphis group designers, for quite some time.

I could never really justify spending that much money on a single cushion (what if I spill food on it? What if my hair dye rubs off on them?!), however, to my surprise, my sister had had a brilliant idea. She bought all four Nathalie Du Pasquier tote bags from a lovely Glasgow based shop called TOJO Design and she and my mum set about making them all into cushions. How cool is that?

I think they go very well with my dad's galaxy painting above the sofa and my own handmade spikey lamp.
