Coffin Purses With Ornate Lining

I finished making another lot of coffin-shaped purses. I really liked the lining I used for this set; it's a sort of black, white and grey ornate flower and eyeball pattern. These purses are available to buy from my online shop.

Pink Things

Had my hair re-pinked the other day. Went a bit brighter/darker this time.

And, sticking with the pink theme, I got this awesome fabric too. I can't wait to make something out of it. I imagine it'll be purses, but I got a whole metre of it so that will last me for ages.

Louche Vona Dress

I had a little trying-on session the other day at the Barnardos charity shop down the road and ended up buying this dress for five pounds. The label said it was by 'Louche' and I already thought it was a bargain before I got home and looked it up to see that the price for it online was £79! (Or £30, second hand from ebay) Not bad! It even fits really well too which is something I find difficult with tailored dresses.

I wore it to a joint birthday dinner for my Dad and nephew with some little heels (not something I wear very often). I got my Dad a book on Blackadder and my nephew a big book on stones and fossils. Charity shops rule, man. Seriously.

Discovering New Places

On Sunday we went to my sister's house to celebrate my mum's birthday. We had some hours to kill after church through so we decided to make a day of it in town.

We sheltered from the rain for a while in a cafe and had pistachio hot chocolates. Pistachio hot chocolates are one of my favourite treats at the moment.

And we discovered a new place (ie. a place that's been there for ages but we never bothered to go to until now)! The savoury food looked flippin' amazing even though we didn't get a chance to try it and the sweets were to die for.

The amazing snickers brownie we shared. Also the coffee was Dear Green coffee which is one of the nicest coffees in the world in my humble and totally plebian opinion.

And I decided to wear my new exposure shrug from Cyberdog. It's a bit of an early birthday present. I absolutely love it!

Luisma T-shirt & Freshly Purple Hair

Finally got round to altering this t-shirt from Galeria de Muerte. I got it for designing another shirt for them. This one was designed by Luisma from the band Hemorrhage and it's awesome! I love the tombstones, skulls and grim-reaper.

I also re-purpled my hair the other day so I stuck some photos of that in too.

Zombies In Glasgow

Last weekend, we went out for dinner and then to the cinema to see World War Z and, as you can see, we had some time before tea so we did the mature thing and pulled silly faces in a photobooth.

The film itself was better than I thought it was going to be! I actually kind of liked it. I haven't read the book, although my husband has and he said it they included some of the more interesting parts of the book in the film. We mainly wanted to go, however, because some of the movie was filmed here in Glasgow in 2011. I figured we'd maybe catch a glimpse of some locations that looked a bit familiar, but I didn't expect to see the whole first scene take place in what was very obviously Glasgow (made up to look Philadelphia with American street signs and post boxes) as well as a really clear aerial shot of George Square overrun by passengers fleeing from zombies! How cool?

As you can see, I wore one of the pvc collars I've been working on lately. I've been tweaking the pattern and I think I've got the right size and flexibility finally. So far, I've made a few black and pink ones with the hope of maybe selling them at a craft fair or on etsy. And if people aren't interested in buying them, I'll just take them all for myself because I love wearing collars! I don't know why, but I just think they're so cute (especially when you make them yourself so you can choose exactly what you want them to be like!).

Bone Brooches For Sale on Etsy

My little felt bone-shaped brooches are now on sale in my online shop! You can have a look at them here. What do you think?

They are approximately 7.5cm in length and each bone brooch is handmade so they might vary in stitching very slightly. The packaging colour is random, but if you have a particular preference for the pink or the purple just let me know!
