Poizen Industries Jumper and Sneakers With Bats & Spikes

If there's skill in life I've developed over the years, it's finding a bargain. Ok, maybe it's more luck than skill, but you know what I mean. In fact, recently, I managed to bag not one but two ridiculous bargains in the one week! 

Firstly, these cute little sneakers from Forever 21 which were reduced from £33 to £7.50 in the sale. Not only do they have little bats all over them, but they also have teeny wee spikes on the heel. Sweet.

Unfortunately they have a little bit of a 'heel'. I kind of wish they were flat so they were more comfortable, but I guess the little heel makes them a bit more feminine (also for £7.50 I ain't gonna complain).

Secondly is this jumper by Poizen Industries. I walked into a Barnardo's charity shop the other day and and the shop had an entire wall full of goth clothes. I'm not even kidding. They were all brand new too. Either someone had decided to become a goth then changed their mind very quickly or, more likely, a kindly company had donated all the clothes to charity (which companies apparently sometimes do). Now my first thought, of course, was: 'Waaait a minute. A massive selection of gothic clothing with nothing over a fiver? I've been in this situation before... I'm in a dream aren't I?' But nope! It was all real so I ended up snagging this jumper and another little blouse for work.

And I can't even tell you how much this is just the perfect jumper. It's long enough to cover my bum (for coziness), it's got a corsetted back (for prettiness), ridiculously long sleeves with thumb-holes and a massive cowl-neck that you can wear about 12 different ways (as I'm trying to demonstrate with the pictures). The best way to wear the cowl-neck though, of course, is over your head as a massive hood! Very goth-ninja indeed.

Furry Scarf & Chocolate Pancakes

It's official: Special Effects hair dye in Atomic Pink does not fade. It's amazing. I haven't had to dye it since October. This is definitely the dye to have if you're lazy like me. Not only that, but the colour's really nice too (I mixed it with a lot of conditioner and a bit of purple dye to). 

Speaking of pink things, I treated myself to this pink leopard print furry scarf from River Island. Other than some CDs I ordered from amazon, it was my first "treat" to myself after getting a steady part-time job (meaning I can justify spending money on myself now and then now as long as I don't overdo it) so I guess that makes it kind of special. It's a little bit tacky and OTT, but that's no bad thing, I say.

And I felt sorry for my husband last Sunday since he was working from early in the morning to ten at night so I thought it would be nice to make something to surprise him when he got home. I didn't really fancy going outside in the bad weather so I had the challenge of making something out of what we had in the cupboards which ended up being chocolate pancakes: ordinary pancakes/crepes mixed with some cocoa powder. I also made some chocolate syrup for drizzling, out of melted butter, golden syrup and cocoa powder and made some cream for them by mixing brown sugar into sour cream. The verdict was: they were a success!

Milkshakes In The Sunshine

My little 3-year old niece asked if we could come into town on Saturday to meet her and her big brother after they'd been to the pictures with their Grandma. So, naturally, we made our way to town. I mean, how could we resist a request like that?? I was too distracted though by the all the noise and commotion in the toy shop and in the eatery we went to to remember to take any photos of the wee souls, but we still took some photos of each other in the sunshine after buying milkshakes. We're not quite as adorable as my niece and nephew though. 

I thought I'd wear my new Barbie t-shirt and new purple scarf since it was such a nice day and I wanted to show them off.

And here's my husband, looking disturbingly like a men's fashion model. The jumper over the shoulder probably doesn't help actually.

I found this teeny wee necklace in Accessorize the other day too. They had it in months ago, I didn't buy it and regretted it ever since so when I saw it was back in stock I had to snap it up. It has a black plastic heart with a little gem inside and, although it's gold rather than silver, it's so tiny and cute that I don't even mind.

Frankenstein Green Nails & Yellow Skirt

The title of the post sums it up fairy well, I think. Yes, this is my new favourite nail colour at the moment. Total hideous shocking green - I love it! I also got a yellow skirt because it was very cheaply on sale. It's sort of mustard colour with black lace and has a cute black elastic waistband at the top. I couldn't resist it. Also, yes, I'm wearing a belt in my hair because I couldn't find any scarves. I must have chucked them out or something when I moved out of my parents' house.

Luisma T-shirt & Freshly Purple Hair

Finally got round to altering this t-shirt from Galeria de Muerte. I got it for designing another shirt for them. This one was designed by Luisma from the band Hemorrhage and it's awesome! I love the tombstones, skulls and grim-reaper.

I also re-purpled my hair the other day so I stuck some photos of that in too.

Ribcage T-Shirt

I thought I would show off my new t-shirt from Restyle because I love it so much. It's so comfy and I've wanted a ribcage t-shirt for ages so I finally treated myself to one. It's a long shirt too and the design goes all the way to the bottom of it, including the top of the pelvis. Don't you love when people put that much detail into something?

Despite the fact that Restyle is in Poland and I'm in rainy Scotland, it's still cheaper to order clothes and jewellery from there (including postage) than it would be to buy from a lot of places here. I've only ordered jewellery from Restyle twice and both times they arrived broken, but, at their prices, I'm certainly not going to complain! If you've got a pair of pliers, some metal fixings and nail polish handy, it's easy enough to fix most jewellery mishaps in life anyway.

I snapped the one above the other day before church and below is a picture of me wearing the shirt back when I accidentally dyed my hair green! Sorry all my pictures are badly taken mirror pics, by the way. One day I might figure out how to do this a bit more artfully, but until then my excuse is still that I'm an illustrator not a photographer! (Dagnabbit)

Incidentally, my make-up here is purple and black in the crease, a little bit of shimmery mint green in the inner corner and some sparkly black liquid eyeliner over ordinary black eyeliner on the wing. The make-up in the one above is my everyday black and red in the crease.
